Chuck, I feel your pain. I remember when Ben was a puppy, I wondered for a while if he would change the channel by farting after eating our remote. Don’t worry, they outgrow it. Usually. Although, I have met some labs who never get a brain. Hearing your reaction made me think, Oh my god, Chuck is living my life for a day.

Anyway, here’s my dilemma: Do I go see Watchmen on the big screen, and then read the graphic novel, or do I experience the story in book form first and watch the movie when it comes out on DVD?

Hmmm, that’s a tough one. But I have to say the book is definitely the right choice for you. Watchmen should be experienced as the graphic novel first.

The movie did great job, but I found it enjoyable seeing how the translated the novel to the screen.

As a great man once said: “You must do what you think is right, of course.”

Did the great man also speak in broken English like you?

And Doug, I would say see the movie first for three reasons.

    1. It’s still in theaters and it deserves to be seen on the big screen.

    B. Watching the movie will allow you to enjoy it without preconceived knowledge or expectations.

III. Chuck said to read the book first, so obviously this is the wrong answer.

Well, no, but then again, they didn’t really have keyboards (so to speak) in the Old Republic.

I do agree with one thing Jason said…the movie does deserve big screen treatment, plus anything that will push its domestic gross over the $120M production budget is a good thing (Every $10.50 helps!)

Thanks for the totally contradictory advice, guys :)
I’m a little late to the party on this one and I didn’t want to spoil the comic by seeing the movie, although I gather the ending is different. So, of course, I’m doing what any geek in my position would: reading the book really fast before the movie is out of the theaters.

LOL, sorry about that buddy. It really is a tough decision, but I think you’re making the right choice. Now, stop reading this and get back to it!
