I too caught this, and overall I think it was good. I love the fact that all of these animated features are becoming de rigeur. Being able to expose my kids to the cinema experience AND be able to enjoy the movie myself is just great.

I definitely enjoyed KFP, the beginning was pure Jack Black (albeit a bit toned down), but the 2D animation at the beginning was very slick. The movie moved quickly (the kids loved it) and Ian McShane was superb as the villian.

*****SPOILER ALERT*********

I did think that Tai Lung's insane escape from the prison was incongruous with his battle with Po at the end. I would have liked to see (or at least known about) a longer training routine with Po. I felt he got up to speed a little too quickly. Especially since he was obviously a total kung fu doofus, and the "Five" had been trained since birth and they had a rough time together beating him.

So, that being said, overall the movie was fun and had some great voice acting. If you look at the cast, it reads like an A-List for yesterday, today, AND tomorrow. Dustin Hoffman's Master was excellent, but Randall Duk Kim's Oogway stole the show (you may remember him as the Keymaker for The Matrix Reloaded).
