Thanks Dodge, I forgot I said that! LOL - I got a good laugh, tnx. I didn;t get a chance to see Sarah Marshall yet, but I think my wife may dig it, so I got a good shot at watching it. Apatow is hit or miss for me (but not movie to movie, throughout the movie), so I gotta agree with Brett.

These flicks are never ambivalent for me, it's always a HUGE laugh, or a "oh man, that's so wrong" - I'm sure I'll enjoy it though, so I'll give it a shot. I mean, it's no "Crank" but then again, nothing really is, right J?

I'd have to agree here. Any movie that has the name Apatow attached to it in any way should tell you immediately that the characters are not to be analyzed.

However this does not prevent some actors from throwing in excellent performances at times, but I find that to be almost accidental in nature. Apatow's movies are low-brow intended, formulaic in nature sometimes to a fault... but I measure them in laughs per minute rather than emotions raised or thoughts provoked.

Not sure I agree with this assessment. I found the movie to be very funny. Unlike yourself, I went into this film not expecting much, so was pleasantly surprised. I found Russell Brands portrayal of Aldous Snow very funny, and had to laugh at William Baldwins spoof of David Caruso. Didn't find myself thinking about Kristen Bells poor performance. To me, this movie isn't really one to be too analyzed. Its either funny or its not, and I thought it was. These types of movies are just brain candy, I cant give em too much thought.
William Hurt said it best in the Big Chill
"Don't be so analytical, sometimes you just have to let the art flow over you."

The opera was very funny, and I enjoyed the seen when they were all making fun of the cell phone movie Sarah made.

Anyway, Like this site. Nice work guys.
