Isn't Trent Reznor the same guy that released is own album after breaking contractual ties with Interscope records?

Trent's comments sound a bit pissy b/c he didn't get there first. I'd consider myself a moderate NIN fan, and thought Year Zero was phenomenal. The reality is that Reznor's brain child just doesn't have the impact that Radiohead does. In reality, what band today can boast such a feat? Reznor has a bit of a history for running his mouth, and it appears that's exactly what he's doing here.

There was a fantastic article in Rolling Stone a few months back citing where all the money goes from your $15.99 when you buy your favorite band's record. While the largest slice goes into the record companies pocket, there are portions sent to the distributor as well as the actual company that packages the music on those little pieces of plastic that miraculously produce monsters like "Too Shy."

In the end, I think both Radiohead and NIN are attempting to make music that they feel is important and are trying to release it to their loyal fan-bases (which are probably not so dissimilar) without those annoying interferences. But then again, I just get all tingly when I hear Paranoid Android played at 11.

Why is duct tape the solution for everything? I think in the future, we'll run our cars on a concoction of duct tape and Willie Nelson's bong resin.

Here's a little something from Trent Reznor(NIN) about how he feels Radiohead is getting credit for doing something half ass and insincere.

http://www.news.com/8301-10784_3-9894376-7.html?%5E$

Also, I fully admit to being stupid well before I listened to the music on the Raconteurs website. I also have an extremely diverse taste in music. Having said that I have two things..

1.Cool old school website
2.Music is not bad, just didn't hear anything that jumped out at me... except for 'Broken Boy Soldier' which made me want to cut my own ears off and roll duct tape around my head to block out the chance of hearing it again.
