Fail. (me, not the movie)

appleseed.jpg

I was such a big fan of the first Appleseed and it totally slipped my mind until just now that the sequel came out today. I have failed myself, my family, my friends… excuses, I have many, an acceptable one…I have not.

The 3d and design alone of the original and the trailer for the sequel are akin to coming home to find Scarlett Johanssen and Jessica Biel making out on your bed. (if that doesn’t appeal to you head to your doctor, you may not be human.)

If you have not seen the original, go get it and it’s sequel… if you like animation, 3d, action, adventure, whatever… you’ll love it(them).

IGN has a stellar review of the new one here.

Never really got into the first one, but then again I sort of was watching on a piss poor quality from a bootleg copy.

I’ll obtain it (them) and then I’ll give it a solid shot, then post back to say what I thought of it.

In its defense, if Jason likes it then it can’t be bad at all, then again…he liked Jumper.

Actually I have surmised that I would like Jumper but have yet to see it.

I unlike some of you, do not require pretentious crap like “stories” or “good dialog”. Sure its nice to have and all… but necessary to enjoy something?

    Hell no.

Oh yeah.. and you of all people..

I don’t know J, if movies had no story…then Indiana Jones would have been a white guy whippin minorities and random North Eastern Europeans while stealing other people’s things.

I’m pretty sure thats not PC.

Hmm, on the other hand that does sound like a kick ass film. Note to self.

You’re telling me that thats NOT what Indiana Jones was about?

    Consider my world rocked.

(funny thing i noticed when watching Raiders of the Lost Ark a few weeks back… a young Alfred Molina (Doc Oc) as the guide who betrays Indy and pays the price in the opening sequence.)

Oh shit, I think that’s the plot of “Crystal Skull.”

OK, You know what, I kinda dug Appleseed, but only the second half (when they were blowing shit up). When it comes to Anime unless it’s Akira or Evangelion, leave the story home. Gimme robots, boobs and bombs.

Anyone got a good suggestion on something we should check out, please post!
